Rosie Flores about Duane Jarvis …..

I am in LA, I came to be with Duane Jarvis. The cancer has spread
all over his body. It’s going to take a miracle to save him and were open to anything and everything. He’s ok
with whatever happens and is making the best of his situation. He came
out in a black velvet robe trimmed with leopard collar and sat and
picked the banjo for me, I sang, we smiled and hugged.
His
attitude is so graceful and he continues to write poetry and finds the
time to return some calls as weak as he is. His lady Marina is a
blessing and a dear. His brother Kevin is also awesome and sharing time
to be with him. His apt. is beautiful with big windows to the trees in
Marina Del Ray, he has a gas fireplace which he called magical to relax
by in the living room when he’s out of bed. Marina is taking him in the
wheelchair for strolls in the sun on the boardwalk at the beach. He is
appreciating every day he is alive. The ever hip (but not too hip) DJ is
still cute, cool and loving. Spread good thoughts for him, he deserves the
best and uplifting things to be shared about him at this time.

Ik heb Duane leren kennen in de Maloe Melo waar hij speelde en dat is alweer een lange tijd geleden. Hij was ook een gast bij 1 van de Rootsclub avonden waar hij met David Childers aanwezig was. Hij tourde rond met Childers. Later ging ik met hem op pad om een radioshow (radio 6) te doen samen met Ramsay Midwood. We zijn daarna uit eten geweest en hadden een goeie tijd. Ramsay en Ik hadden wel al iets van, wat ziet die gast er slecht uit en niet veel later hoorde dat Duane erg ziek was. Duane is een zeer goed gitaarspeler en het is hard te horen dat hij straks er niet meer is. Muzikanten als dit zijn zeldzaam en misschien op de achtergrond maar ze brengen de wereld veel plezier met hun muziek.
